Postscript A Change Got to Come.

George Orwell.   "Gaza was rarely a place to fear as a Jew."  Anthony Loewenstein.                                                    It's a bit hot in Tunisia, Kairouan reached 48 degrees centigrade. The highest temperatures are between 11 a. m. and 6 p. m., this is new, not long ago the temperature used to drop a fair bit after 4 p. m. Now everything is an efford. Thinking of Gaza, being purposely left without water, food, medicine, all those beautiful, innocent children, their parents, relatives and others, isn't that sadistic? Is there a God that allows such cruelty? More than 100 aid organisations warn of man- made famine on a big scale for 2 million Palestians. Doctors, assistants and others are already collapsing on account of starvation., so far 101 including 80 children have  died of famine, 21 less than 5 years old. Selective empathy, is this civilization? Hundreds of supply trucks are being held back by the Israelian regime. 700 used to arrive daily, now only 70 are let in, and it often turns out to be a death trap. Imagine capital punishment even for children, for wanting food and water. Guterres declared that he finds the attacks on UN buildings repulsive.  The UN Special Rapporteur, Fransesca Albanese, rejects " the obscene US sanctions for criticising Israel."  US doctors and veterinarians demand that their government stops supporting Israelian atrocities against Palestinians. The UK minister of foreign affairs says that the brutality in Gaza sickens him. Not only Mosques but also churches are attacked or even destroyed in Gaza, lately one that dates back to the 5th century, no regard, no respect for houses of worship, not what the Jewish religion actually stands for! Anyhow, while the Pope condemns this, it seems to present no problem for Herr Merz, the German chancellor, member of the Christian Democrates (CDU) The Social Democrates, in Coalition with the CDU and CSU (from Bavaria) , demand a stricter approach to Israel and signing the letter, demanding that Israel stops the war.  According to a survey only 13 % of Germans agree with the government's politics concerning Israel, 87 % say that Israel must be stopped violating internatial laws and regulations and faces sanctions. Surprising, in view of " the big filter" used in German media to avoid negative reports concerning Netanyahu's regime. Only lately this has changed a bit. Anyhow, Herr Merz  wants to continue supplying  weapons, even if they are used in violation of  internatinal laws and regulations. He doesn't want to join those 30 states that demand an immediate end of the Israelian war in Gaza and refuses to sign that letter. 130 diplomats employed by the German foreign office, mainly belonging to a younger generation, demand a harder approach to Israel. Nothing of this kind ever happened before! Folks in Tunisia stated that they don't understand German politics anymore and ask why do they hate Palestians and Arabs, "we used to have an excellent relationship." Well, it is not the way it seems, only one third trust Herr Merz, many Germans also don't understand what he is doing. He wasn't elected by the population but by his party, though no longer a strong party, but the one with most votes. Good politians have become a rare species. By the way, 75 % of Germans declared that they would support the 2 states solution, an own state for Palestinians. Israelian-Canadian soldiers are afraid of returning to Canada as the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) has launched a structual investigation into war crimes committed in Gaza. Their orginal task was to investigate what war crimes Hamas committed against Canadians, but than more came to light than anticipated! Leading Canadian Jewish organisations quickly reacted, expressed their concern and urged the Canadian government to "remain their focus on killings by Hamas." Absolutely  sickening these double standards. It is easier to torture and kill your "enemies" if you see them as subhumans, animals that only look like humans, Nazis practised this. Members of Netanyahu's regime have made such comments about Palestians. Latest idea to degrate Palestinians, Israel "saves abused donkeys" in Gaza and sends them for a better life to France...... In view of donkeys being the only means of transport left for Palestinians, it most probably concerns donkeys simply stolen from Palestians, probably by lawless wild settlers, supported by Israelian soldiers. Settlers not only threaten Bedouin Palestians, burn their olive trees, destroy their farms and steal their sheep, cows, etc., lately they have even beaten to death an US-Israelian teenager, who was visiting his family in Palestine. US citizens demand an investigation and punishment of his murderes. Recently 1 Ukrainian got killed by Russian attacks. Ukrainians seek shelter in beautiful styled underground stations. What luxery, there is nothing even slightly resembling such facilties for starving, exhausted Palestians.                                                             Update:  Latest development, the German chancellor, Friedrich Merz, declared that in view of Netanyahu's Gaza plans he will stop for the time being deliveries of weapons to Israel that are employed against Palestinians and that he has been thinking about this for weeks. Not all of his CDU party members agree to this decision and the Bavarian CSU massively critizes him for  "for no longer supporting Israel unconditionally. Israel must not be weakened." Netanyahu is furious. 

A Change got to Come.

Confusius.                                                                                                                                         Early in the morning when I feed my big feral family, Jane's kitten, baby Lizy, is always one of the first ones to greet me and demand her bit of "salami". One morning she wasn't there and nowhere to be seen. I feared she may have suddenly passed away. Cats tend to hide when they feel that their end is near. When I opened the entrance door to attend to the visitors to my Cats' Table, I had a pleasant surprise. There she stood, my lovely little treasure, we were both absolutely happy to see each other. It is getting pretty hot, the climate change is taking its toll. In many countries the beaches are losing sand, but nowhere as rapidly as in North Africa, approximately 7 cm in a year. Not so in Tunisia, there it's 50 to 70 cm, absolute record. Unfortunately many citizens still don't understand the importance of environmental protection, they lack this awareness and "saw at the branch they are sitting on." Lately kids like frozen fruit juice in a small plastic bag. The remains with the plastic they drop wherever they happen to be, a lot in front of my house, attracting ants. Persons with this type of behaviour Germans call "environmental pigs." Time to wake up and it is up to all of us. Yet bad habits die hard. All those numerous motorbikes, youngsters and kids riding extrem loud motorbikes fueled with bad stinking diesel, just for fun..... Netherlands banned New Year fireworks, here they are constantly used (on a smaller scale) at various functions, e. g. yesterday once more one of those extreme loud street wedding celebrations. Bad for our blood pressure, my heart beats like mad, and it frightens animals. Tunisians seem to love having it loud, either meanwhile immune (a bit deaf?) or just unaware of the negative effect on human and animal health. You don't see many bikes on the street, they are out of fashion, cars appear to be a must, offten families possess /hire more than one. Comparing (within my limits) Tunisian youngsters on holiday here, coming from France and Germany and subjected to the environmental restrictions there, I found that those from Germany are better educated - or is it just that some Tunisians living in France enjoy "the freedom" of doing here what is there absolutely forbidden (extremely expensive fines, even for simply dropping cigarettes stubs). It is not sufficient to have good laws and regulations to protect the environment and avoid pollution, you also  need folks who monitor this and ensure that violations are punished appropriately. - Mr. Trump invited for a mini African summit the heads of states from Mauritania, Liberia, Senegal, Gabon and Guinea-Bissau. Since Liberia was founded by in America freed slaves originating from Africa, English became the official language most widely spoken. Thus spoken by Liberians a long time before Mr. Trump's family even learned a word of English! Big surprise, Donald Trump advised the president (mend to be a compliment?) of  Liberia that he speaks excellent English and inquired where did he learn it. Wow, in Liberia.... President Trump pressures African presidents to accept irregular migrants deported from the US. Hopefully they'll refuse. Donald Trump doesn't like his brother-in-spirit, Bolsenaro, being taken to court in Brasil (for trying to overthrow the goverment) and threatens Brasil with 50 % tarifs. Lula da Silva replied: "We don't need to trade with the US (mainly coffee and orange juice), a total lack of respect and tact, a behaviour Trump adopts with everyone, and I am not obligated to accept this disrespectful behaviour between heads of states." Bravo, I'd wish the EU and others would have the same " strong backbone" instead of collectively bowing to the presently most powerful man in the world. It is forgetting your own power that makes him so powerful and Trump isn't even good for the US unless you are extremely rich..... Important state officials, experts, lost their jobs over night, to save money....... Being asked if this could be the reason why so many (more than 200) died following the last flooding, the president replied that only a person with a bad character would ask him such a question. Human Rights Monitor EURO Med, has called for the US president, Donald Trump to face criminal prosecution for complicity in gonicide, for support of the GHF aid distrubution mechanism in Gaza. Since GHF began operating in May 27 the number of those purposely killed amount to 805, missing are 42 and 5,252 have been wounded. The system is a viscous death trap. Needless to say, many victims are children. Did those GHF members with an army background feel threatened by those half-starved kids? The minitoring group says

that testimony from the field indicated the involvement of private US security contractors and Israelian soldiers in the attacks on aid seekers. Some Israelian soldiers stated that they were ordered to shoot. One Israelian government member, I think it was Mr. Katz, openly asked, why provide aid, we want Palestians to starve to death  or die of thirst. Trump's administration provided "an umbrella of comprehensive military, financial, political, and diplomatic support" for the war in Gaza. Even wanting some water to survive appears to be crime, recently 8 were targeted and killed, 6 were children. The medical staff death toll amounts to 1,588. Brave army! 130 NGOs are calling for UN to take over the distribution of humanitarian aid. High time to act before there is no one left requiring any aid. Why this boarderless hate? We need actions not words (Herr Merz declared that he doesn't agree with what's going on in Gaza, hasn't done so for weeks.....) . Have we lost all civilization, even animals show more empathy, I have seen this! By the way, Donald Trump said that  Mr. Putin is killing too many people, sounds like he is totally unaware of how many Palestinians (and others from the neighboring countries) his Buddy Bibi Netanjahu killed.
