Trying to Understand.

"   Eyal Weizmann.             My lovely, gentle, 5 year old, treasure Rashida sadly passed over the rainbow. She suffered from liquid in her lungs, too low temperature and a chronic cold. Being not well myself led to me taking her too late to our dedicated vet. More than 4 years ago I discovered her together with 3 other, nearly adult, frightened cats, all looking alike, crammed together in a cardboard box in front of my door. Luckily a veterinarian took 2 for her brother to adopt. So I just kept Rashida and Allen, the later sadly suddenly died one year later. Adoption of cats means lots of joy and love, but also sadness, a feeling of helplessness, when they leave us. Antonia is our grey coloured little darling, with us for several months now, but for unknown reasons stopped growing and remains kitten size. She likes to join Jane's babies in the basket and the mother tolerates this. I fear her stealing the little ones' milk. When she sees that I discovered her, she voluntarily jumps out off the basket. I advised my husband that maybe we should call her Cuckoo! Following heavy thunder and rain at night, several of our feral kids didn't feel much like eating their croquettes the next morning, some visitors at my Cats' Table appeared to be in a bit of a bad mood and also showed less appetite. Life ain't easy. On a good day I have less pains and stress. - Occording to the famous Peruvian Mario Vargas Losa corruption is the greated problem in the world,  causing the breaking down of institutions. People are often voting for those who are already corrupt or will be in future. Democracy is always threatened.  Donald Trump advised us that "Biden is even worse than Carter." The governer of California is taking Mr. Trump to court for damaging the economy. Well, Donald Trump is also fighting against education and sciences. Brain drain, many academics opt out and leave for Canada. Does president Trump want to throw US back to the level of a third world state? Obama congatulated Harvard University for resisting. Measles can be eliminated through vaccination. Now that a member of the Kennedys (the black sheep, so they say) has been elected by Trump as Health expert, at least 2 children have died of Measles and about 800 are sick already. In Mexico a new folksong has been created (in Spanish) : "Good- for- nothing government, do we really deserve this...." Friedrich Merz, who most probably will be the next German chancellor, even though nearly 60 % of the German people don't consider him suitable for that position, said, should Netanyahu wish to visit Germany, he would find a way that he won't get arrested, inspite of the ICC international warrant. Do like Urban? I guess it needs to be mentioned that Merz recently complained about "heaviest war crimes in Ukraine". Interesting attitude for a future German head of state, by the way, Germany joined the ICC organization in 2000 ( Tunisia in 2011). - Rumor has it that in order to stop so many injuries and death caused by motorbikes, the police in Tunisia is starting to confiscate uninsured motorbikes. Sounds promising, I view dangerous riding every day, mainly by youngsters and even kids in residential areas, just for fun, on narrow streets without a pavement and with elderly folks living on both sides of the road. It will be good for the environment also, if we have less pollution through black stinking clouds. While 10 eggs in Tunisia cost only approximately 3 Dinar (more for better quality), you have to pay presently in Germany 4,50 Euro for the same amount, partly due to birds' flue. Still, I remember a time in Tunisia, before the revolution, when many folks could only afford eating an egg once a week. - Doctors Without Borders called the Gaza Strip a mass grave for Palestinians and they remain without humanitarian help. Israel attacked recently also the only Christian hospital in Gaza, including the church there. International laws are becoming meaningless. Even Israelian politicians and activists judge Netanyahu's war as such, "it has no logic, none of this makes any sense."  As a child I heard that: Israel made the dessert green, the Bedouins living there were ignorant and too lazy to plant and harvest, thus no damage was done by Jewish settlers and I believed that the new Israel would be a deeply humanitarian state, based on the experience of unspeakable sufferings, Holocaust, the evil effect of  manipulation of the public opinion, greed and envy, lack of empathy. This is what I believed as a child, deeply shocked by the terrible atrocities a civilized country like Germany (Dichter und Denker or Richter und Henker? ) committed against innocent Jewish folks, many of whom rightfully regarded themselves as Germans, even fought for Germany in the First World War. On the other hand there was this Austrian immigrant, from a poor family, who for a while even ended up in a shelter for the homeless, received a lot of help from a Jewish friend, and so did his mother by a Jewish doctor - I am talking about Hitler. Isn't it strange, this hatred? Hitler once even ended up in prison and could have been deported...... It has a long tradition to deport the wrong, also in US. Lord have mercy, we need wise leaders who do right and are kind to humans and animals, who are willing and strong enough to fight against the spreading evil in the world.
